Challenge #2: Upgrading Your Resume 🖹✔️
Step 2: Let’s upgrade that resume with a checklist to get your resume up to industry standards 💪🏼
Welcome back to the next phase of the challenge!
This week, we’re using the clarity and goals we set last week to tailor our resumes to the jobs we want to apply for.
A recruiter takes only 7-8 seconds to scan your resume.
That’s how long you have to make an impression good enough to get an interview call. Every second counts, so make it count!
What Your Resume Format Should Look Like
Add your name, address, contact information, and the LinkedIn URL at the top.
Add a professional summary in 1-2 lines summarizing your career goals and work history.
Start adding your work experience in reverse chronological order. Only add relevant work experience for the job role you’re applying for.
Add your educational qualifications and certifications at the end.
Mention your skills at the very end. Include soft skills or specializations, such as programming languages or Adobe Photoshop.
